Whether it is a spectacular waterfall or a quiet pond, water works in the garden every magical, providing a regional focal point and soothing the soul.

A landscape is never complete if its soft elements are not completed correctly by its hardscape. Hardscape or “hardscaping” is composed of inanimate elements of landscaping, particularly the work of masonry or carpentry. For example, stone walls, concrete or brick patios, tile roads, bridges made of wood and wooden trees would all be considered as part of the hardscape. But hardscape goes beyond large-scale projects like these. Any non-life ornamentation in your landscaping is technically part of the hardscape.

Without the clever arrangement of stone and other components hardscape, the most artistic landscape is not a framework for disable plants tastefully and beautifully. When designing your garden, always start by permanent structures. Let the physical area and its surroundings dictate the form and shape of your design.

The wooden structures can be used in the garden to provide support for the plant material and define the elements of “outdoor rooms,” the truss becomes a wall, tree a door, a pergola roof – a gazebo combine all these. The design of these features should take into account the weight of loads probable plants, natural forces of wind, humidity and the sun and properties of the wood itself. Including wooden structures in the landscape offers us the opportunity to recycle materials “nature garden” to ours.

Hardscape materials are as varied as your imagination. But for weight construction, you are safer with proven materials such as stone, wood, cement, etc.. Most people like the shade patios and structures. But even these can be built with creativity, train them to the original design and choosing materials imagination. The cement can be colored, stamped or inlaid. Mosaics, paving stones, tiles, bricks, colored gravel, crushed glass, or a combination of materials can make flat surfaces turbulence with interest. Consider the addition of two structures use and beauty.-architectaria

Different Types of Timber Flooring:

1. Timber Blocks

These are usually made of a hardwood species laid on a screed of concrete. They are laid in a herringbone or brick bond and basket pattern. They require a dry and stable atmosphere. The blocks are jointed with tongue and grove edges and fixed with an adhesive.

2. Floor Boards

These make up part of the construction of some houses; timber tongue and groove floorboards are fixed with nails to the floor joists. With the increased use of concrete substrate floors, a timber floorboard finish can be achieved by fixing battens into a concrete screed. Uplifting carpet and finding timber floorboards is a great coup as sanded and polished they provide a simple form of redecoration.

3. Parquet

This is used mainly for high quality domestic projects. It is available in square panels that hold all the timber pieces together. It is fixed by gluing to the base substrate, which is required to be level and free of lumps. The style of parquet is usually three fingers of timber facing vertical with three adjacent facing horizontal and so on. They are available with a prefinished coated surface or raw and require a polyurethane coating finish.

4. Chipboard

This is made of chips of timber combined with urea formaldehyde resins bonded to form a board. It is fixed by nailing to timber joists. It is a cheap product with a moderate wear ability. Its surface looks like cork when it is sealed.

5. Plywood

Plywood is made up of thin layers or plies of timber that get bonded together. Layers are laid face to face but each adjacent layer the grain runs in the opposite direction, which provides strength to the board making it stiffer and stronger than solid timber of the same thickness. It has a moderate wear factor as a floor product. It is nailed or glued to timber floor joists. A finishing coat would be required to seal the floor and protect it from spills, damage and wear.

6. Hardboard

Hardboard is made from soft wood pulp and is a cheap product. Generally used as a base for other flooring. It can be painted and sealed but it is not very durable long term.

This is the corridor side with the refined design of cement, natural stone, water, and appropriate plant selection. Material remaining projects. Beautiful!

The existence of the corridor at the side of this modern style house become increasingly significant as the porch for relaxing. The architect, Robert Oswald, process the waste material from the project. Materials that are composed membentukteras which function as a reading and sitting room.

Terrace size 2.5 mx2, 5m was effective, visible from the view access to the living room, entrance gate, and a small pond beside the patio.

On the side of the terrace there 2mx0 sized pool, 5m. There are accents of three small concrete block 10cmx10cmx20cm in the pool, which serves as a space filler composition. Swimming is not too large it can add quality to become more comfortable space. Leisure Terrace is also inseparable from the role of iron pergola covered with vines Thumbergia type sp. Plants create a shady terrace. The flowers also provide white accents that enhance the visual space.

There are also plants the iris, which becomes limiting and sweetening the edge of the porch.

Archintoo.com-Awning or canopy are a way to shade patios and decks for years. With an awning, you can both block sunlight and heat from store down through a patio door or shadows while you relax outside on a lazy Saturday afternoon. You will also find that awnings can be a big hit window and used as a way of protecting furniture and carpets from direct sunlight, which can lead to blurring.

In fact, during the hot summer, using a canopy (awning) to block the heat, you can create as many as 65% discount on your energy bill on windows facing south and as high as 77% on the windows to the east and west. Canopies are great protectors for trim around windows. Usually, when the sun shines on the wood, day after day with the rain, the wood can rot and warped. However, by using a canopy, the wood is protected.

A canopy will protect outdoor furniture on your terrace or deck, leave your windows during a mid-summer rain, reduce glare on computer screens and televisions, and best of all, they add a nice decorative touch to the aesthetics of home.

You’ll discover that awnings are usually made of fabric or aluminum. The awnings made from fabric do require a little more maintenance than an aluminum awning but also offer a better variety of color and shape. Aluminum awnings are low maintenance, sturdy, and provide a retro look.

The fun of whatever material awnings is that they both are designed to withstand high winds and heavy weather. Although a tornado or hurricane can be too much, you can be sure that most high winds will not damage the awning. In determining the size of the awning to buy, it’s really down to your personal preference. But you also want the amount of energy you need.

For example, if you add an awning on the windows to the east or west, if you want a drop from 65% to 75%. For going up awnings on south facing windows, you want the drop to be shorter, ranging from 45% to 60% coverage. Remember that window and door canopies are versatile in that they can be installed with or without side walls.

In addition Roll up and retractable awnings are an excellent choice in that they block out the sun during the hot summer months, but then the warm sun shine during the winter. The bigger the canopy, the more protection you will achieve and when you plan to install the awning on your patio or deck, the retractable model is most useful.(architectaria)

Archintoo.com-Building a small house dilahan often make some room in the house is not fully get the lighting and the fresh air / natural. As a result some of the room was dark and stuffy, so the lights and air conditioning must be kept lit at all times .. This method avoided whenever possible, because in addition to unhealthy, electrical energy consumption is also a wasteful .. This is contrary to the issues that go green these days we often hear.

Several types of building lighting and air circulation problems such as exposure above the residential houses which are designed structure couple (town houses or homes banjar), or the houses of a densely populated area, there are houses built on lots of land stretching (eg: 10 mx 30 m). In buildings like this, the center of the building was stifling hot and dark.

One way to overcome these problems is by designing and placing an open park in the building (inner courtyard), between the spaces which have no direct relationship with the area and the outside air. Park open dibagian placed center of the building will provide air and natural lighting for the room at the time of day.

The size of these parks do not need too big, just provide enough space, approximately 1 mx 1m, 1 mx 2 mx 2 m or 2 m. That must be considered is the park directly connected with the outside air, without cover, are not covered. If you are worried that occurs when rain falls tampias, use of fiber roof that passed the light, and provide a large cavity for air circulation.

Park in the house did not have to be filled by the plants / vegetation is too dense, the composition of the park could be dominated by rocks, Peebles, or can with a combination of water (ponds) and water plants (lotus, etc.). Spaces adjacent to the park is given the maximum exposure possible. Ventilation large, wide glass windows or sliding doors that create an opening towards the garden grew, so the intensity of light and circulation more smoothly towards the room.

If the design of your home building lot in the middle of the room that has no source of lighting and natural penghawaan, then you should add some open park spaces around them. The middle of the room so that the building was still a supply of fresh air and natural lighting during the day at a time when.(architectaria)

Archintoo.com-To help prevent or reduce the level of the rate of global warming, increase the green open space with a garden on the roof of the house, storey buildings, hotels and offices is one effective way. Although the condition of the urban area of largely filled by the rise building, the designers (architects, and landscape architects) to create a green open space to add plants that have been taken over when the building was built.

By making the park above the roof, storey buildings can still have a green open space, because there is space efficiency. Park above the roof (roof garden) is as an alternative reforestation to improve the quality of a large city environmental health. Currently, only a few five-star hotel in central Jakarta which has a garden on the roof (roof garden).

Making the park above the roof (roof garden) is not cheap and need structure and specific roof construction. Even for optimal results, the construction of the roof to the garden was designed from the beginning, before the building was built. However, this investment can come back in a few years later, because the cost of electricity for air conditioning is reduced, and increases the economic value of the building.

A private hospital in Singapore managed to reduce electricity consumption by 50 percent, after a garden above the roof (roof garden). Although the roof garden was just a tomato plant, which is placed in the pot to cover the entire roof. Another advantage, the hospital did not have to buy tomatoes again.

In addition to the shade, the park above the roof (roof garden) can also be used to absorb toxic gases. Eg bamboo or palm can absorb formaldehyde gas and gasoline. While plant daffodils, in addition to absorbing formaldehyde gas and gasoline, as well as alcohol and acetone to absorb the resulting paint and so on. Vines also serve to absorb the gas acetate, ammonia, and other gases. Because of this function, widely used vines to the garden on the roof (roof garden) in foreign countries such as Singapore and Japan.

How to Build Roof Above Park
Before making a rooftop garden, first consider the construction of the building roof. Is it designed to support medium load of soil and planting trees will be planted on it or not. Because the park above the roof (roof garden) should be supported roof structures and strong construction.

The existence of the park above the roof (roof garden) will lead to increased load. Piles of soil and plants will increase the dead load, wind load, and the additional burden of water on the roof of the building. The building must have a drainage system that works well.

If the type of shrubs to be planted, he will take the roof load increased by about 650 kg/m2. Plus live load according to activity on the roof garden. For example, 400 kg / m 2 for sports, 500 kg/m2 for the party and dance, as well as 250 kg / m 2 for restaurants.

To plant a large tree, the location of the floor plate to the structural columns that supported the concrete plates do not collapse. In addition, retaining walls need to be made the ground because the tree requires a sufficient thickness of soil, or make a hole in the roof of the building, under a tree.

Construction of a roof leak-prone, and should be equipped with drainage channels. Drainage layer such as gravel, sand, and pumice stone should be added to the water easily flows into the drain hole. Filter made of geo-textiles or fibers to function under the water to keep the grain land but not to clog the drain.

To prevent damage to water-resistant coating (water proof layer), barrier layers must be added to the plant roots do not damage the waterproof coating and the concrete underneath.

Because plants exposed above the roof of direct sunlight and the wind faster, watering should be done regularly. Spraying water that it needs to be done manually or automatically.

For the planting medium, the formula should be light but have the ability to provide nutrients and moisture. For example, by mixing sand with a layer of wood shavings added pine bark and manure. The depth of planting medium for the grass requires 20 to 30 centimeters, as well as cover crops. Meanwhile, shrubs and small trees require 60-105 inches deep. Large trees to a depth of almost 2 meters.(architectaria)

The atmosphere remained calm and fresh tube.

The house is located on the main street traffic is busy. Noise and dust become part of daily life inevitable anymore. But the conditions were not too tesebut felt when we entered this house area. Serenity and peace into the atmosphere instead.

Why, yes? Yard which borders the road is closed 180cm tall fence. This fence was open because wake of a series of metal shaped like a twig. But outside the fence on the side of tea-tree tehan (duranta) as high as 2m.

The tea-growing tehan was tight and flat cut from the outside and inside the fence. This is what makes the fence a “closed”. Even the existence of an iron fence not visible from the outside. Duranta precisely as an effective noise filter, but it’s also a good dust barrier.
Bagitulah, so we would not be surprised if the noise and dust much less when we are in this residential area. In addition, residents also get privacy because the atmosphere behind the fence not visible from the outside.

Side of the fence lined planted iris. High slices no more than 40cm. When compared with the high duranta reach 2m, composition interesting contrast. Mini elephant grass planted around the iris, the more complete the greens in the garden area.

Furthermore, layangkanlah point of view of the entire yard. There is a fish pond at the side entrance to the main door. Floor path to the main door is made from sheets of solid wood boards. On the other side of the pond, but the spread of miniature elephants, plants are also planted flowers.

In the middle of the park, the road is made of cement and sand combined with coral brushes. The flow path rectangular, with a variety of sizes. Therefore, the display platform so there’s no monotony.

One corner of the overgrown bushes, while the other side of the park is treated with a simple design. Alloy bushes with a clean design that really enrich the atmosphere of this park.(ideaonline)
